On a Ranchi track expected to be slow and low, Chennai Super Kings won
the toss and chose to bat. Victory today will confirm Super Kings' place
in the playoffs while also all but eliminating Royal Challengers
Bangalore.
Super Kings made two changes to their batting. Faf du Plessis, who has a niggle, was replaced with David Hussey, who was an IPL commentator till a week ago, and Vijay Shankar's place was taken by the experienced Mithun Manhas.
Royal Challengers, who also wanted to bat first, made one change, bringing in fast bowler Varun Aaron for batsman Vijay Zol. That leaves allrounder Sachin Rana at No. 6 and Mitchell Starc at No. 7, followed by a lengthy tail.
