RCB won by 5 wickets

Disciplined bowling by Royal Challengers Bangalore set up their win in Ranchi on Sunday, which was accomplished with a little hiccup in the end by a margin of five wickets - with Chris Gayle and AB De Villiers making the most notable contributions with the bat.
Varun Aaron led the RCB attack with figures of 2 for 29 to restrict CSK to 138 for 4, but the Bangalore chase didn't get off to a confident start, scoring at less than 5 runs an over in the first 10.
However, Gayle (46 off 50 balls) and De Villiers (28 off 14) upped the ante at the right moment to enable RCB to win with just one ball to spare after losing wickets in a chunk during the dying stage of the game.
Earlier, Suresh Raina overcame early jitters to hit an unbeaten half-century and guide Chennai to a modest total.
During his 48-ball 62-run knock, Raina struck a six and six boundaries to help his team to a decent total after they struggled to force the pace for a major part of the innings at the JSCA International Stadium Complex here.
Bangalore bowlers were very economical with Varun Aaron being the most impressive with figures of two for 29 from three overs.
Opting to bat, Chennai did not have an ideal start as they lost both their openers within the first five overs, with Aaron accounting for Dwayne Smith (9) and Brendon McCullum (19).
Raina walked into the middle when Chennai were in the spot of bother after losing two wickets in the same over with just 29 runs on the board in 4.4 overs.
Along with David Hussey, Raina rebuilt the Chennai innings, putting on 75 runs together for the third wicket.
Raina was more dominating of the two batsmen as he hit all the loose balls that came his way, even as Hussey struggled to get going. Finally it was Muttiah Muralitharan who saw Hussey off for a 29-ball 25.
Even Chennai skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni failed to take off despite hitting an early boundary off Yuzvendra Chahal.
In the final overs, Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with a nine-ball 10, putting on an unbroken 23 runs for the fifth wicket with Raina.

csk decide bat first

On a Ranchi track expected to be slow and low, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and chose to bat. Victory today will confirm Super Kings' place in the playoffs while also all but eliminating Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Super Kings made two changes to their batting. Faf du Plessis, who has a niggle, was replaced with David Hussey, who was an IPL commentator till a week ago, and Vijay Shankar's place was taken by the experienced Mithun Manhas.
Royal Challengers, who also wanted to bat first, made one change, bringing in fast bowler Varun Aaron for batsman Vijay Zol. That leaves allrounder Sachin Rana at No. 6 and Mitchell Starc at No. 7, followed by a lengthy tail.
Chennai Super Kings: 1 Dwayne Smith, 2 Brendon McCullum, 3 Suresh Raina, 5 MS Dhoni (capt & wk), 6 David Hussey, 7 Mithun Manhas, 8 Ravindra Jadeja, 9 R Ashwin, 10 Ishwar Pandey, 10 Mohit Sharma, 11 Samuel Badree
